The Already Free Band began with a group of musicians that met while incarcerated in the North Carolina prison system. The choices they made in their lives led to consequences that put them in a place they had never imagined. However, instead of being the worst thing to happen, it turned out to be the best thing of all. They now share a common message of how Jesus Christ changed their lives.

The goal of the band is to reach out to Christians and unchurched people alike. To share the story of transformation that can come in a heart that is ready for change. We want them to know that there is hope, through the change and strength that comes in knowing Christ, no matter how far down you may be, He is never to far away.

The group began with Sam Parsons-lead vocals, Rick Lunsford-lead guitar and Richard D Shank-keyboard. Since being released, they have been joined by Billy Lowe-bass guitar and Steve Hepler-drums.

The majority of the music performed by the Already Free Band is original work. Drawing from a wide range of influences, the Already Free Band has a wide variety of styles. Their sound stretches from 70’s to today and genres ranging from blues, adult contemporary to rock.
