J.Paulo and Flavio were the founding members of a band we don't like to mention at the present time, which lasted for a few years. In a short period after they decided to depart from it, they formed their own project, 'Aatma' Unfortunately the project existed for just a few months; Flavio left it for personal/family reasons. After that unexpected moment, J.Paulo decided that it was the time to re-start a new life in his music world with another project only this time it was set to be a full band ready to get back on the London underground gig circuit.

AlmaMorta, pronounced 'al-ma-mor-ta' was born in June 2006. J.Paulo, an experienced and skilled guitarist, brings a fire and passion to the band, which has resulted in such great moments as: 'Fine, you play guitar, Ill manage the f**king band!' For this new band, J.Paulo brought one of the ex members of Aatma. Andre, originally from Portugal, moved to London a couple of years ago and sharing Paulo's goal and desire he joined in his project in December 2005 as a lead guitarist. Andre's most famous words in the band have been: 'Go straight on, turn right, turn right again, and f**k off!' Building on the distorted and fat sound of the guitars section, it was time to find a drummer. With the help of Flavio, we found another 'Lusitano' or should we say another Portuguese; Ricardo Reis. With non stop conversations about his favorite bands, stories and ideas, influences from Dream Theater to Pantera, he brings a progressive sound to the band. However he didn't just bring his drumming skills but also a wealth of experience in recording. AlmaMorta was starting to breath; the other requirement was to find a bassist who could bring the heavy presence and sound we needed. Joseph, born in England, is an extremely calm person and also a great guy to share a conversation with. Joe was brought on board in the middle of July 2006. After a couple of minutes of his audition we noticed straight away that his sound was perfectly fitted for us. He was the correct guy to fill the position of bass player.Simon, ex singer from AlmaMorta,persuaded the band in June 2006, brought his old school metal influences and mystic lyrics to the band. Unfortunately, he left the band in November 2006 due to musical differences, well normally that’s what we all hear and read from bands when someone departs…but yes that was the real reason. In December 2006, a new brother joins AlmaMorta family, Nathan! originally from U.S and Egypt, brings a massive influences in many different types of music but, specially from a band we all know Machine Fuckin Head!
