Put simply, Aesthetic Debris is the best reason to believe in Rock 'n Roll in the year 2001. Hailing from London, Ontario this four-piece outfit is the most exciting live act in the Forest City.
You will not see this band take to the stage dressed in boring 'Guess' T-shirts, and khaki pants; rather Aesthetic Debris tear through a blinding set, complete with home-made dress-shirts bearing spray painted slogans such as 'Pretty Vacant', 'Beauty Kills' and 'Romantic Suicide'. Few have left one of their concerts without a melody wrapped inside their brain. With the lightning quick kick drum of Ryan Chalupa resonating deep in your chest, the passion fueled bass of Nik Smith, a guitar which screams let's have it exploding from Jason Rolfe's Marshall amplifier, and the do or die vocals of Nathan Smith, which exudes the frustration of the way things are, compared to the way things could be, Aesthetic Debris cannot be ignored.
Included on the debut 5-song EP is the first single 'Midnight Chime', a moody track which kicks you in the face by the climactic ending, the radio-friendly 'Feels Like', the soulful 'Cry For You' a song which begs for an arena setting, balls-out, all or nothing rocker 'Catchers In The Rye', and finally wrapping up with a tune which may sound more appropriate being played in a smoke filled bar, 'Mercedes'. And whether it be that smokey bar, or arena's not yet even built, the band will always breathe rock 'n roll in the purest sense.
The songs transcend age, sex and race, as does anything that is genuine and real. Aesthetic Debris. We want the world, and we want it now.
