So far away from home, four Providence College students have embarked on a dream and goal in life: to spread their talents and love of music. Ed Healey (vocals, guitar) and Paul Larochelle (drums), the band's founders, quickly realized after some jamming sessions that they had found a way to reach their dreams, and Nathan Everding (guitar, vocals) and Josh Ingemi (bass) soon became members in what was to become the band [acronym]. The four started practicing as united band in March, completing 'Meet the General' and 'Let It Go' after just two short practices together, and a total of ten original rock songs after only two short months as a united band.
In October 2000, [acronym] played their first live show before a group of appreciative fans at The Living Room as “Dollar 95”. The band then performed more shows at PCPalooza and Stuartstock. Crowds loved the music and the band loved playing. In November 2000, [acronym] competed in the WDOM Battle Of The Bands, with a large fan support. They were one of the most dedicated and hardworking bands to perform at the competition. After the contest, [fallen] replaced “Dollar 95” as the band name, and their loyal fans formed DNF Productions as a Promotions and Booking team. Also, the band withdrew from the live scene to record their debut EP, a collection of the crowd favorites at the shows. [fallen] entered the studio. In April 2001, [fallen] found themselves being requested to perform at several shows at their college, in Providence, and around New England. Due to complications with several of the venues, [fallen] elected to perform only at Done with Civ. May 4, 2001, the band performed for over 1000 audience members, receiving great response and support despite oppressive heat, little or no shade for the band or audience, and old audio equipment.
In May following the show, the band found itself in the middle of photo shoots, college show contract negotiations, and on the verge of beginning their ascent. They once again changed their name to distance themselves from the many new bands that appeared with variations of [fallen], choosing the name [acronym] under which to perform in the future. In October 2001, [acronym] performed again at Stuartstock at Providence College as the headlining band, and also at the Living Room in Providence the next day. Both shows displayed the band’s maturing music and many new fans were gained. December 2001, [acronym] left the local scene and traveled to Manchester, CT to perform at the Equator Club. The show was a gigantic success and the crowd was extremely receptive of the band’s music.
[acronym] is now forming the basis of the [acronym] street team. Where is [acronym] headed? They now know the dream is not Completely Unattainable. One Who Learns to Persevere will reach their goal. Are you ready for the road that lies ahead? Hold on tight, [acronym] is about to take off.
