Alison Margaret and the A.M. Jazz Quintet features innovative arrangements of classic and modern jazz standards as well as original tunes. Ms. Margaret just released her debut CD 'Come Sunday' which features pianist/arranger, Laurence Hobgood, and tenor saxophonist, Pat Mallenger. 'Come Sunday' is thick in jazz tradition but is propelled by progressive harmony and melodic creativity. The CD includes composers such as Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, and Alison Margaret.
Ms. Margaret’s vocal career began in 1997 when she began her jazz studies at Columbia College Chicago. She moved to the city to follow a jazz musician’s vision. From late night gigs, to early morning studies, she devoted herself to the eternal being of jazz. Only through extreme dedication and natural instinct has Ms. Margaret’s career path has led her to collaborating with renowned composer and pianist, Laurence Hobgood.
