Hailing from New England, A Breed Apart was formed in February 2003, when drummer Glenn Kuczer and guitarist Mat Ford were looking for a singer and bassist. After countless auditions they found what they were looking for in singer Andrew Santagata, who joined in January 2003, and bassist Adam Rodenboh, who completed the lineup in February.
On their new ep 'Population Refresh', A Breed Apart pulls out all the stops with a growling, gutting attack on your audio senses that is guaranteed to satisfy all who dare to listen.
A Breed Apart's nu-metal meets old school roots and Progressive edge can best be described as: Crunching, Slamming, Wrenching, Grinding, Disjunct, Abrasive, Heavy, Harsh, Angry and Hostile while also setting a Melodic backdrop that will make you wonder how a band can maintain such diversity. From the opening strains of 'Sour', the bands' first single, to the menacing grind of 'Until You Crack', which features all the mind shaking beats, growls and razor sharp guitars one could ask for, to the anger ridden 'I Hate' and 'Dead', which feature an incredible display of chops and dynamics.
