8bus is known throughout Atlanta as the creators of Atlanta's new music scene, and the leaders of the 'E.B.C.' (Eight Bus Crew). The E.B.C. claims members such as other headlining act Injected, top Atlanta rap group Hood Society, local rock quartet S.L.A.M. (Something Left After Misfortune), female rapper Angel, and heavy hitters Big Slow Wreck. Singer Connor and giutarist Ken Green are co-founders of Atlanta based label Frame 313 Records.
What seems to set 8Bus and their crew apart from the rest of the Atlanta scene is the intensity of the live show. Clubs like The Point and The Dark Horse in Atlanta with capacities of 110 and 95 respectivly have been known to sell over 400 at the door for the incredible live shows. Songs like '7/4/97' with guest rap by Hood 1 of Hood Society and the hard-core anthem 'You ain't no Champ' have become crowd favorites, and mixed in with old time favorites like 'Veinscape' , 'The Lesson', and 'Elephantaxi', ALWAYS make for a scream-along good time. When 8Bus plays a show complete with opening acts from their clique (such as the 4/10/99 show, where the line-up was S.L.A.M., Hood Society, Injected, 8Bus) send fans to the next level, with a massive release of energy that is unequaled in the southeast.
Cited by local papers and magazine's as 'Atlanta's answer to Korn', 8bus took their current line-up; Guitarists Chris Tinsley (formerly of Follow for Now) and Ken Green (At Risk), bassist Jay Corrigan, drummer Matt Tomasovich (Tuff Nutz), and vocalist Connor, in to the studio to record 4 of their most loved songs (The Lesson, Elephantaxi, You ain't no Champ, and Darwin Fish) for fans and radio. An impending release date of April 27th, has fans hungry and screaming for more. 'Mirror the Day', and EP released in May of 1998 sold all 3000 copies that were pressed, but the band declined to print more, so the fans await the new material.
The bands five member, new style, and leadership of the new scenein Atlanta, has to have bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, and Orgy looking over their shoulders. Who's got next?...........The E.B.C.
