6 Degrees was formed in 1997 in Tallahassee, FL. the band quickly found success touring the southeast extensively. 6 Degrees music is a mix of funk, Afro-Cuban, reggae, rock, jazz; the lsi goes on. Each member brings a unique set of influences to the table to help create the band's incredibly unique sound. 6 Degrees music combines soulful, inspirational lyrics and melodies with worldly percussion and mature musicianship. The band resdies in Atlanta and plays to spread the music as far as possible.
6 Degrees consists of Luis Bravo on acoustic guitar and vocals; jon Dotson on guitars and vocals; Dave Faigin on percussion; byron fullmer on drums; and the newest member Matt Stallard on bass. Each member brings experince from various ensembles and bands ranging from Salsa, Jazz, Funk, Classical, and many others. the various elements combine to from a sound that draws from everywhere but sounds like no other.
2000 saw the band make its move to Atlanta, GA. 6 Degrees has perfromed on Z-93's radio show the Dunham's and continues to perform intown extensively. 2000 also saw the release of Ms. Fortune, the band's new album. its mix of jazz, funk, island-vibes, thoughtful lyrics and musicianship have helped it sell well in the Southeast.
The band is on the road in support of Ms. Fortune and playing in its hometown of Atlanta. with the addition of bass-player Matt Stallard the band is ready to take its music to a whole new legion of fans while bring all the old-ones along for the ride.
