3 feet up is a husband and wife acoustic pop duo from the Portland, Maine area. The songs they write and perform are inspired by a wide range of spiritual sources. Together, they are one giant range of opposites: Husband and Wife, Guitar and Drums, Original Songs and Cover Songs, Yin and Yang, etc. This contrast makes them especially appealing and fascinating to many different types of people. Musically, they fit in somewhere between the likes of Sting, Steely Dan, Dave Matthews and David Sylvian.
Chris Hardy is the acoustic guitar and lead vocal part of the duo. A former fretless bassist (there is a 'Favorite Local Bassist' award named after him in Augusta, GA), he's a veteran of bands up and down the east coast and a BILLBOARD Magazine award winning songwriter. Chris tries to create songs that offer more than your standard three pop guitar chords, in fact he usually makes up his own chords.
Victoria Hardy is quite new to making music. Having only begun her drumming in April 2004, she's learned enough about playing drums to lay down a sweet groove and still complement the song. This is actually a quality shared by the world's best drummers - simplicity without boredom! Soon, she says she'll enter the world of singing and songwriting.
