3 Hrs. Old consists of Billy Wilkenson (vocals), Sammy Stephenson (guitar), Damian Lewin(bass), and Shane O’Brien(drums).
Damian and Sammy were fifteen years old when they were introduced through a mutual friend and started their first band. They were both beginners, and not only did their skills develop, but a long time friendship. As they got older and more serious they began to deal with the common problems of inconsistent members. Sammy called on one of his childhood friends Shane O’Brien to come and fill the void of a drummer. . . . and it was a perfect fit. Not only did his skills surpass most of the drummers they could find, but the history of friendship really reinforce this already tightly knit 2 piece. The three played together for about a year as an instrumental 3 piece, playing mostly cover songs while writing a few originals along the way.During Sammy’s senior year in high school he was introduced to Billy, and was told that he would be a good vocalist to complete the band. That day Sammy and Billy went out to band practice but the others couldn’t be there that day, so Billy and Sammy collaborated on one of Billy’s songs (The Pain within). They recorded what they had done on a little boom box to show the other members. . . . . .needless to say they were both impressed. Shortly after Billy became the voice of “DTP”(Disturbing the Peace) which would later become 3 Hrs. Old.
After mutually parting ways to venture off in other musical endeavors, the band decided to get together to cut a short 2 song demo in May of 2000. Although a majority of the members were in different bands, they would always make time for eachother. Then in summer 2003 the band got together to jam just for fun. After playing some of the old songs it was very apparent that there was still something there. While playing back together for literally 3 hours the band played their first show. . . . . . hence the name '3 Hrs. Old'.
These four long time friends have built the foundation for what could be a long lasting career. With the experience and drive of a veteran act, you can be sure you will be seeing alot of these guys on the local circut, and beyond.
