1000 Days is primarily a Folk-Rock band with blended stylistic elements varying from bluegrass, jazz, funk, reggae, and country. The group conveys a positive message through song, citing Psalm 84:10.Better is one day in your courtsthan a thousand elsewhere;I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Godthan dwell in the tents of the wicked.Individually, the 1000 Days have spent their 1000 Days elsewhere, and now are attempting to serve as the doorkeepers to their Lord's house. Expressed in their own ways, they have a burning desire to share the one true hope they have found in this life.1000 Days current E.P., Dog Days, reveals just a bit of longing for home. They're holding the door open for others. They lived life the ordinary way, but it just didn't measure up. Now, they truly want to show...A Better Way.
After a break from the many 2006 shows, 1000 Days has returned to the studio to complete their new album. The band is tracking currently. A future announcement will include the album title and release date.
If a new album isn't enough, members of 1000 Days and friends have also began a new international aid organization call Mercy's Hope. The goal of the organization is to help Kenyan orphanages to become self-sufficient. 1000 Days bassist James Miller said, 'Some might not understand the reason for this mission. Assistance is provided to families in underdeveloped nations, but there is a gap in what is available to orphans. It is the goal of Mercy's Hope to be obedient the the Lord's command to care for the orphans.' Mercy's Hope has its own email list for information and is arranging two mission trips to Kenya this year.
